Sod-Cutting Ceremony Held in Berekum East

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Office of the Member of Parliament for Berekum East and the Berekum Traditional Council, successfully organized a Sod-Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, 27th November 2025 to mark the commencement of key development projects across the municipality.

The ceremony was graced by prominent stakeholders including Nana Akosua Ameahene III, Queen Mother of the Berekum Traditional Council; Hon. Dr. Nelson Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Berekum East; Hon. Lord Oppong Stephen, Municipal Chief Executive; and Hon. Hajia Ramatu Ibrahim, Presiding Member of the Berekum East Municipal Assembly.

The scheduled activities included sod-cutting for the following projects:

• Kutre No2 R/C School (8:00am – 8:50am)

• Madrasati KG Block (9:00am – 9:50am)

• Kyiribaa Drilling and Mechanized Boreholes (10:00am – 10:50am)

• Kato R/C JHS Block (11:00am – 11:50am)

• Diaban Methodist JHS (12:00pm – 12:50pm)

The initiative reflects the Assembly’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure, water access, and community development. It also underscores the strong partnership between traditional leadership, political representation, and local governance in driving progress across Berekum East.
