INAUGURATION OF BEREKUM EAST MUNICIPAL SPORTS COMMITTEE
The Berekum East
Municipal Sports Committee was officially inaugurated on 7th April,
2026 at the Berekum East Municipal Assembly Hall at 10:00am. The meeting was
attended nine members including and the M.C.E . The purpose of the meeting was to formerly commission the sports
committee and outline its responsibilities in promoting sports development in
the municipality. The meeting began with an opening address by the MCE,
who welcomed all members and emphasized the importance of sports in the
municipality.

The Chairman, Alhaji
Abdul-Mumin advised members to work as a team and maintain discipline in all
their activities. He encouraged cooperation and dedication among the committee
members. A speech was delivered by M.C.E, highlighting the importance of sports
in community and youth development. He encouraged members of the sports
committee to be committed, responsible, and dedicated to their duties. He also
assured the committee of the assembly’s support in organizing sports programs
and activities.
The committee was
tasked with the following roles;

Promoting sports activities in the
municipality
·
Organizing competitions and sporting
events
·
Identifying and developing young talents
·
Supporting schools and community sports
programs
·
Ensuring proper coordination of sports
activities
The meeting ended with
an appreciation to the M.C.E, the Chairman and all present for their support
and participation.
