ASSUMPTION OF DUTY BY THE MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE FOR BEREKUM EAST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Berekum East Municipal Assembly officially welcomed its newly appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hajia Fati Abubakar, in a brief but dignified ceremony held on Monday, 28th April 2025. The event marked the formal assumption of duty by Hajia Abubakar, following her confirmation by the Assembly and subsequent endorsement by the President of the Republic.

In her inaugural address, Hajia Fati Abubakar expressed profound gratitude to the President, the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, and the people of Berekum East for the confidence reposed in her. She pledged to uphold the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and development-oriented leadership.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders including traditional leaders, Assembly Members, heads of departments, representatives of civil society organizations, and members of the general public. The MCD of the Assembly, Mr. Akaditi Ayambire, led the welcome address expressing optimism about her tenure.

Hajia Abubakar outlined her immediate priorities, which include enhancing revenue mobilization, improving sanitation and infrastructure, promoting youth empowerment, and strengthening collaboration with traditional authorities and development partners.

The event concluded with a symbolic handing over of official documents and a tour of the Assembly premises, signifying a smooth transition and the beginning of a new chapter in the governance of Berekum East.
