Training Programme on Tomato Paste Production Held at BRC – Berekum

In a strategic move to promote entrepreneurship and create sustainable employment opportunities, the Berekum Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Hajia Fatima Abubakar, organized a comprehensive training programme on tomato paste production for local citizens. The event took place at the Business Resource Centre (BRC) in Berekum, drawing enthusiastic participation from aspiring entrepreneurs, youth groups, and community members.

The initiative is part of the Assembly’s broader agenda to harness agro-processing as a catalyst for economic empowerment. By equipping participants with practical skills in tomato paste production, the programme aims to reduce post-harvest losses, enhance value addition in the agricultural sector, and stimulate local enterprise development.

Hon. Hajia Fatima Abubakar, in her opening remarks, emphasized the importance of self-reliance and innovation in addressing unemployment. She encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training, noting that the knowledge acquired could serve as a foundation for launching small-scale businesses and cooperatives.

The training covered key aspects of tomato paste production, including sourcing quality raw materials, hygienic processing techniques, packaging standards, and basic business management.
