The 39th edition of the National Farmer’s Day celebration was observed by the Berekum East Municipal assembly at the Kutere on in December, 2023 on the theme “DELIVERING SMART SOLUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY RESILLIENCE”. Mr. Salley who is the Head of Agriculture Department welcomed the various dignitaries and the general public to the gathering. In his address, he thanked the MCE, Hon Kofi Adjei for his unflinching support to the Agriculture Department and famers in the municipality. Mr. Salley stated that the Agriculture Department of the Berekum East Municipal Assembly provided improved vegetables seedling and seeds to the farmers and household. Farmers were also educated on improved forms of fish farming, poultry etc. The MCE, Hon. Kofi Adjei expressed his profound gratitude to the farmers for working tirelessly every year to provide food for every individual in the country. The ceremony saw some farmers receive some valuable items as rewards for their outstanding performances.
