ROAD CONSTRUCTION AT BEREKUM EAST MUNICIPAL



As part of Government’s commitment to improve the nature of roads in the Ghanaian community across the nation, work on an 8.7km road (ring road) earmarked to be undertaken in the Berekum East Municipality has begun. Construction has commenced in regards to the project where various stakeholders have expressed their excitement towards the project. Hon. Kofi Adjei who is the Municipal Chief Executive of Berekum East Municipal Assembly had kept his eyes on the project since its inception. On Thursday 22nd September, 2022 the Municipal Chief Executive and his entourage paid a visit to the workers of the said project and to as check the progress of work The MCE together with other NPP Party officials, a few staff of the Berekum east Municipal assembly and some concern citizens of Berekum including some media officials visit the various routes of the project which includes the following 1. Alawa to New Biadan road 2. New Biadan to Senase road 3. Senase to Berekum SHS road 4. Berekum SHS to Mpatasie road 5. Mpatasie to Continental road 6. Continental to Alawa road The Hon. MCE Berekum East Municipal Assembly, The Presiding Member, Party Officials, Staff of MMDA and the Media went on a visit to inspect and overview the work progress of on-going road The team Began their journey in the morning at 10:00am starting their tour from Alawa junction. At Alawa Junction the Municipal Chief Executive addressed the workers with words of encouragement after he had commended their commitment to the project, He the gave them some items including bottles of water, drinks and Biscuits. Similar activities took place in other construction sites as the tour continued. The Chisnese contractor who is known by the community as Kofi China explain the to team the nature of the project and gave the team an image of how the road is going to appear at its completion. The consultaants also indicated that the project is an 8.7km road which will see butimen on the entire stretch at the completion of work. The media and the general pblic also raised a few concerns which were dealt with by the consultant. In conclusion the visit was successful.
