A team of officials from the Ministry of Energy visited the Berekum East Municipal Assembly to evaluate the success of the stove distribution project in the municipality.
The team was received by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Kofi Adjei, and other officials of the assembly.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the impact of the stove distribution project, which was implemented by the assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy. The project aimed to promote the use of clean energy and reduce dependence on charcoal and firewood for cooking.
During the visit, the team held meetings with beneficiaries of the project, including women's groups and market women.
The MCE, Hon. Kofi Adjei expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Energy for their support and partnership in implementing the project. He noted that the project had been successful in reducing the use of charcoal and firewood in the municipality, and had also helped to improve the health and well-being of women and children.
The leader of the team from the Ministry of Energy commended the assembly for their hard work and dedication to the project. He noted that the project was a model for other districts and municipalities to follow, and pledged the Ministry's continued support for the project.
The visit ended with a call on the assembly to continue to promote the use of clean energy in the municipality.
