Monitoring Visit by Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme Officials

Berekum East Municipal Assembly

As part of the final phase of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme (GSCSP), a team of three officials from the programme paid a working visit to the Berekum East Municipal Assembly to assess the status of implementation and ensure compliance with project objectives.

Purpose of Visit

The visit, which comes as the programme nears its official closure, was aimed at:

• Reviewing progress made under the GSCSP within the municipality

• Verifying documentation and reporting accuracy

• Conducting physical inspections of project sites to confirm completion and quality standards

Activities Undertaken

During the exercise, the officials:

• Held a technical session with Assembly staff to review project reports, financial records, and monitoring documentation

• Examined key deliverables and compliance indicators as outlined in the programme framework

• Visited selected project sites for on-ground verification of infrastructure and service improvements

Institutional Engagement

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Fati Abubakar, welcomed the team and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development. She highlighted the transformative impact of the programme on urban infrastructure, sanitation, and local governance capacity.
